March 2015:

First visit for a long long time, excellent food but the drinks service was dire.
A very warm welcome and ordered drinks which would be brought over to the table; and so we waited and we waited.  Thirteen minutes later our drinks arrived without an apology.  One person taking orders and two people serving should be more than able to cope if they did not stand around yacking.
Anyway food was ordered from quite a comprehensive menu, not cheap but then not ‘pub grub’.
Starters were the seared scallops and the pigeon breast, the latter was the best I’ve tasted in a long while; beautifully pink and tender.
For mains we chose fish.  One was the cod loin very well prepared - sat on an overly salty samphire and crushed potato base and for the other the biggest piece haddock you ever did see.
Would I go there again?   Only if passing.
Would I recommend it to a friend?  Possibly
